10 Things To Make Working From Home Easier

10 Things To Make Working From Home Easier

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a nice weekend! Although restrictions are lifting slightly in Ireland today I think it’s important for us all to realize we still have a long way to go. It’s definitely not easy to come to terms with this and trust me I wish I could speed things up but we just have to be patient. Here in New York it is predicted that people will be back in offices no earlier than September. Which is crazy to think about but the quicker we adjust to this news the better off we’ll be. That’s why today I wanted to share another working from home related post. I’m sure a lot of you have found a routine that suits you by now and have gotten over any struggles you were having. However, I don’t think any of us initially expected it to last quite this long. So today I wanted to share some items to improve your days of working at home. These are things I either already use or am investing in myself. I hope this list helps :)

1. LAPTOP RISER

This is something I have been meaning to order for weeks now. I am on my laptop so much more right now and my back and neck are definitely feeling it. This riser is very sleek and is also adjustable. Need to invest!

2. BACK SUPPORT

Following up on my last point another thing that could help if you are experiencing back pain is this support cushion. A lot of you are probably used to proper office chairs with this kind of support but if you don’t want to splurge on a new chair this will definitely help.

3. LAMP

Wherever you are working needs to have good light or you will end up straining your eyes. So if wherever you are working is a little on the darker side or isn’t near a window I would recommend getting a lamp for the area. It honestly makes such a difference. I’ve linked some options below if you need one including this nice gold style.

4. LONG CHARGING LEAD

I swear by my long charging lead. So much so I got one for Kaelin & Tommy for Christmas haha! It’s so handy and if you work a lot on your phone like me you may want to invest too.

5. COFFEE MACHINE

This is one I don’t need to go into too much detail about I’m sure. You all know I love my coffee. I recently got a new machine and it has made my days working from home so much nicer. Using is such a highlight every morning as sad as it might sound haha! I’ve linked mine here along with some more options below.

6. DAILY JOURNAL

A few months back I made downloadable daily trackers but I also love to write in my journal everyday. Whether it’s for making work lists or noting personal things I want to get done during the week it just keeps me on track and helps me to be accountable. I also spotted this gratitude journal that I have seen a lot of people using during quarantine – I’m very tempted to get one myself.

7. BLUE LIGHT GLASSES

I think it’s safe to say all of us have upped our screen time during quarantine so I have been wearing my blue light glasses a lot more. I find wearing them helps me switch off a lot quicker at night time. These are the ones I have.

8. FITBIT

Without a commute and all the other reasons we would be out walking around these days it’s a lot harder to keep active. For me I need to set goals in order to to achieve things which my fitbit has helped with SO much. I genuinely love it! It’s reminds me to move everyday and has definitely helped me get more steps in.

9. WATER BOTTLE

I don’t know about you but my water intake has suffered a little during quarantine. It’s so bizarre since I am home all day but I think it was the shift in my routine. Kaelin showed me this bottle that she got and I love the idea of it. It basically has times on the side to remind you how much water you should have drank by 9am, 11am, 1pm etc. She says it has upper her water intake so much and helped her meet her goal everyday.

10. AIRPORDS

And lastly I couldn’t leave out Airpods. I use mine nearly every single day and they are so great for zoom calls, editing & listening to music. What I like about them most is how comfortable they are to wear. A must have in my opinion!

I hope you spotted something that might help you. If you want to catch up on my working from home tips & recommendations or download my daily trackers you can do that HERE!

Take care & chat soon,

x Erika
