5 Fashion Trends To Know For 2020

Hey everybody and welcome back to my first fashion post of 2020! I’m so excited to share this one with you :) We are well into 2020 now and I hope you have all had a really great start to the year. A topic I always like to talk about a the beginning of the year is trends. With every year comes new fashion trends and 2020 is no different. So today I’m breaking down the 5 trends to know for 2020 in my opinion along with some pieces available now to get you ahead of the crowd.

We saw some puff sleeves in 2019 but it looks like they are coming back in an even bigger way for the year ahead. You may have seen me in this top towards the end of last year – such a gorgeous piece and one that would bring you to any event in 2020.

Another trend for 2020 that I am very happy to see is trench coats. I love a good trench and always think they are a staple to have in your wardrobe so I love to see a practical trend like this. This one is so different and the perfect item to transition you from Winter to Spring.

You all know I love my blazers as it is so to see the oversized style as a trend to watch this year has made me very happy. I think this style can be a little daunting for some but I  urge you to try it. I also think getting a blazer a couple of sizes bigger makes it instantly more chic and flattering. This black style caught my eye and would be such great piece to style.

I like to keep my style quite minimal but one thing I always make an exception for is fringe. It was all over the runways last season so you can be sure to see it popping up in all of your favorite stores over the next while. I love the more glam take this jumper has on the trend.

… And last but definitely not least, the power trousers. Another staple in my opinion and a versatile piece that will be a great addition to your wardrobe. Whether you style them for work or going out you can’t go wrong with investing in a pair of wide leg trousers. This River Island pair are giving me all the Winter whites feels.

I hope yo enjoyed this post and I’m excited to share so many more like it with you this year! If there are any particular topics you would like me to focus on be sure to let me know in the comments or over on Instagram (@retroflame)
