Although I do think we have been pretty lucky with our winter so far this year. (And by lucky I mean, it’s not constantly snowing haha!) I do feel like it’s been one of the hardest winters on my skin. For some reason, I’ve watched my skin get drier & drier this season. So much so that I’ve gone in search for some new products to help it out. I usually tend to stick to the same things I’m used to as I have sensitive skin but nothing seemed to be doing the trick this time. So, I asked some of you for recommendations on Instagram the other night and so many of you got in touch with lots of different products. I’m sure some of you are struggling with dry skin too so I thought it might be helpful to share the 10 most popular recommendations.
1.PETER THOMAS ROTH CUCUMBER MASK
This is a new product that was recommended to me from you guys. I’ve actually used the cucumber eye masks in the past and loved them so I’m excited to try this. I used to put the eye masks in the fridge which made them feel cooling as well as hydrating so I plan on doing the same with this mask. It is supposed to help soothe, hydrate and detoxify dry and irritated skin. That all sounds like exactly what I need so I will be sure to report back to you.
2. SUMMER FRIDAYS JET LAG MASK
The first time I tried this mask I was a little unsure as it caused a minor breakout. However, I heard so many great reviews, I decided to give it another go and I’m glad I did. This masks really wakes up and hydrates my skin. What’s great about it too is that it can be worn as an overnight mask for maximum hydration as well as a hydrating base under your makeup. On a side note, I also really love the branding – the founders did an amazing job with the marketing for this product too.
3. KIEHLS MIDNIGHT RECOVERY CONCENTRATE
I have tried this oil in the past and really loved the way it made my skin look. It feels very luxurious to apply. I used it at night before my moisturiser. With consistent use you definitely wake up with your skin feeling and looking smoother. As well as that it is more hydrated and my complexion was definitely brighter. This product is a cult favorite and I can definitely see why.
4. PETER THOMAS ROTH WATER DRENCH HYALURONIC CLOUD HYDRA-GEL EYE PATCHES
I just bought these eye patches and I’m so excited to try them. Another great recommendation from you guys. They are hyaluronic-acid-infused eye gel patches that apparently give a burst of hydration to tired under eyes. Something I’m sure we could all use right now! Eye patches are something I’ve grown to love over the years so hopefully these live up to the hype.
5. SEOULISTA SUPER HYDRATION FACIAL MASK
I adore sheet masks. They give me an excuse to put them on and relax for the time it takes for them to sink into my skin. This mask was a very popular recommendation and next on my list to try. It is made from natural ingredients and is infused with hyaluronic acid to quench dry, dehydrated skin. It is really affordable too which is always a bonus.
6.IMAGE VITAL C MASK
As some of you might already know, I’m a huge fan of IMAGE skincare. One product I especially love from them is the Vital C Mask. It utilizes natural enzymatic exfoliants to gently dissolve the buildup of dead skin cells that dull the surface of the skin. It infuses skin with protective antioxidants and vitamins that nourish and promote healthy looking skin
7. DRUNK ELEPHANT PROTINI POLYPEPTIDE CREAM
I haven’t personally tried this but my new employee, Kaela, swears by this moisturizer. This brand has an amazing reputation so I’m not surprised. She uses it day and night and noted that she felt and saw instant results from it which is very impressive. After listening to her, I am dying to try some products from this brand.
8.GLAMGLOW THIRSTY MUD
Another really popular recommendation was this glamglow mask. In the past, I’ve used a few of their other masks and always loved the results. So this one is definitely on my list to try. You can use this up to 3 times a week an it claims to deliver instant extreme moisture. It also includes hyaluronic acid which will help to get a deeper hydration
9. ORIGINS DRINK IT UP MASK
This was by far one of the most popular recommendations and probably the one I’m most intrigued to try myself. There were two different types as far as I know, an overnight mask & a 10 minute mask. I’m interested in the overnight one which is infused with hyaluronic acid & avocado butter. it promises 72 hours of non-stop hydration and does all the hard work while you sleep – sounds good to me.
10. GARNIER MOISTURE BOMB
And last but not least, I wanted to finish up with a more affordable option. I’ve used this sheet mask a few times and really enjoyed it. It’s water based and my skin felt so soft after using it. They are definitely a really good option that I can vouch for if you are on a budget.
I love learning more about skincare and different brands so I hope you enjoyed this post as much I enjoyed researching for it.
Have a great Wednesday & chat soon,
x Erika
