Hi everyone and happy Monday – I hope you all had a great weekend in the sunshine! As I mentioned in Friday’s VLOG, a group of us headed out east to The Hamptons over the weekend and we had such a lovely break. I say it after every trip I take there but I really need to make the effort to get out there more often. It reminds me a little bit of Ireland given the fact that it really makes me switch off and just relax. I had planned on vlogging the weekend, but as soon as I arrived Friday evening, that idea went straight out the window. I literally just spent the whole weekend relaxing with friends and I honestly feel so refreshed after it. When I stay in the city at the weekends, I find it so hard not to work as normal, so it was amazing to be away from everything for a few days. It’s also not too far in a train/car so it’s the perfect getaway. I’m sure a lot of you would love it too so today I wanted to write a quick recap about our weekend and share details on some of the things I got messages about. I hope you enjoy..
How We Got There
The lovely team at Lexus kindly loaned me a Lexus LS for the weekend (you may remember I teamed up with them earlier this year at Coachella also), so we drove out on Friday afternoon and came back late last night. The journey in total took about 3 hours each way and I definitely recommend having a car, if you can, while out there as everything is pretty spread out.
Where We Stayed
Like last time, we rented a house on Airbnb for the trip. We left it a little bit last minute (as always!!) and only booked it on Tuesday but thankfully we managed to find a great house in East Hampton. Last year we stayed in Sag Harbour so we decided to try East Hampton this year for a change. It was a little closer to Montauk, where we went out Saturday night, so it was actually an amazing location. The house had 3 bedrooms, a pool and a BBQ so it was perfect for what we wanted. Here is a link if you are hoping to make the trip soon, I would definitely recommend it.
What We Got Up To
On Friday night, we stayed in the house and cooked a BBQ. I always look forward to this so much. It was a lovely night so we sat outside and chatted for hours over a few espresso martinis.
Then on Saturday, we spent most of our day by the pool after a quick trip into East Hampton for some coffee that morning and then later that evening we went to The Surf Lodge in Montauk. Visiting this spot is always a highlight for me during any trip to the Hamptons. I absolutely love the vibe there and you can be guaranteed a beautiful sunset. We had so much fun there – it honestly is a must visit if you are ever in Montauk. Be sure to go early on a Saturday evening though because it gets extremely busy during the Summer.
On Sunday, we swapped the pool for the beach in East Hampton and then stopped off in Southampton on our way home. I personally loved Southhampton too. The people watching is amazing and there are some great shops & restaurants. All in all, it was the perfect chilled-out trip and just what we all needed in this crazy heat.
