Hey guys, happy Friday! It’s a very happy Friday for me because today’s the day I go home for Christmas!! I actually cannot believe how fast the time has come around. I feel like I just blinked and the last two months disappeared. We all say it every year, but 2016 really was a quick one! I don’t mind though because Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year both here in New York and at home in Ireland so I’m making the most of every minute. Yesterday was my last day here in NYC so I squeezed in a quick shoot at one of my favourite hotels (especially at Christmas) – The Plaza Hotel. Any fellow Gossip Girl fans will love it too! I’ve had this Club Monaco ruffled sweater for a few weeks now and I’ve literally worn it so so much. I’m in love! As far as I can see, it’s sold out in the white but it’s still available in black here and in a similar version here.
We leave for the aiport in just a few hours so for this week’s Flame Favourites, I thought I would share the five things I am most looking forward to about going home for Christmas…
Of course, first on my list is friends and family. It really is the very best thing about being home! One thing I really look forward to at Christmas are all of the nights out & dinners with some of my favourite people. I think when you live abroad, it really makes you appreciate all the catch-ups when you arrive home. I’m also just so excited to be at home in Kerry with my family – I can only imagine how excited my Mom is today!
Is there any better feeling than arriving home at Christmas to a chocker-block fridge!? I’m probably going to turn into a bar of Cadbury’s chocolate over the next few weeks, but it wouldn’t be Christmas otherwise. I also can’t wait to visit some of my favourite restaurants!
As you may know already, this year I decided to do VLOGMAS (where Youtubers post daily videos every day in December). I was so nervous to go ahead and do it, as it is quite the commitment, but I am so so so glad that I did. I’m really happy with the response so far, while videoing in New York and I cannot wait to film the rest of the month in Ireland. I land in Ireland tomorrow morning so get ready to see Vogue & loads more! Oh and just incase you haven’t had a chance to watch any yet, there are 15 days now live on my Channel right HERE.
I think both Kaelin & I both cannot wait for this one in particular…some downtime! I know I say it all the time but in New York , you really just never stop! It’s been a crazy few months with moving into a new apartment, having Kaelin start at Retro Flame and all of the visa stress that came along with that. So I’m really excited to take this weekend completely off and just relax. Our plan for tomorrow is to open up a box of celebrations and put up the Christmas decorations. Cannot wait!!!
5. MY KILLARNEY EVENT
…& last but definitely not least, I cannot wait for my first ever event in Killarney this Christmas. You may have seen me mention on my snapchat (retroflame1) that I am hosting an event in Killarney on Tuesday the 20th of December from 6-9pm. The venue is a stunning boutique in Killarney called SCARLETT and the event is completely free! So excited to hopefully see some of you there!
There you have it, the five things I am most excited about going home for this Christmas. And now back to the million things I have to do before I leave for the airport, haha! I hope you all have a great weekend and be sure to keep up with Vlogmas over the next few days :)
