My Favourite Detox Water & It’s Benefits

Happy Friday everyone! A quick post today to chat a little about Detox Water. If you’re like me and find it tricky to drink (and remember to drink) water, I think you’ll definitely find this helpful. It has made the world of a difference for me!


A few weeks ago, I spotted Lydia with this beautiful rose gold bottle from DROP Bottle and I literally ordered is two minutes later. You all know how I feel about rose gold. I work from home quite a bit, so it’s nice to have this prettiness right next to my laptop and I guess, makes drinking water a little bit more bearable and dare I say, exciting. Haha!


There are loads & loads of different ways to make Detox Water and so many different fruits and ingredients you can use, but after trying a few different ways, I’ve found my favorite – which is probably the most simple of all! To make my at-home detox water, I just use 3 ingredients: Lemon, Cucumber & Mint Leaves. So simple but honestly, SO nice! I know this is probably not what it’s supposed to remind me of, but I kind of feel like I’m drinking a mojito because of the mint! Whatever works, hey?


So I just chop everything up and pop them into the bottle (which has a strainer at the top) and it’s set to go! Depending on how much I fill up the bottle with ingredients, I get about 1-2 glasses out of it. So it’s a useful way to keep track of how many glasses a day you are drinking. I aim for 8!


The benefits of drinking water are endless. We all know that. But there are definitely some added benefits to drinking detox water. As well as making water a lot more enjoyable to drink, these 3 ingredients that I’ve used have other added benefits too:

  • Lemon: Lemon water makes for a powerful detox drink as lemon juice helps to cleanse and alkalize the body.
  • Cucumber: Cucumber is excellent for rehydration and also has a lot of anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Mint: As well as smelling amazing (and tasting like mojitos, haha!), mint helps to settle your stomach and aids in digestion.IMG_5732
