Hello again everyone! I finally have a new blog post for you guys. You probably know from my Instagram (@retroflame) that I was away for the past week in Dublin for an event & then went over to Galway for the Races. I had such a fantastic time and really appreciated the little break. Later on in the week, I’ll have photos & details from the Parfois Event in Dublin, but first, here’s a quick look at my Galway Races Outfits. Nessa & I decided a few weeks ago that we were going to make the trip to Ladies Day & I am so delighted we did. What a day! The style was just absolutely stunning and we enjoyed every minute. I had planned on buying a new outfit, but in the end I raided my wardrobe the night before (last minute as ever) and put this look together. I just adore this lilac skirt which I’ve had for a while (See it here too) and kept the look very simple by adding my favourite lace top from Zara. I think that the lilac skirt is now sold out from Chicwish, but I found some very similar versions here & here. My hat is vintage and is definitely one of my very favourite vintage finds. I always love to mix my highstreet & vintage pieces.
After the races, Nessa & I went to my favourite place in Galway – The G Hotel. We treated ourselves to some Champagne, Cocktails & yummy food and admired even more amazing style. Overall, Ladies Day was just absolutely fantastic and I really couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s the perfect girls day out!

The races actually went on all week, so as I was staying in Galway until Sunday, we decided to go to the races again on Friday. My friends from Kerry made the trip up and we had such a great day! The weather was quite rainy, so it was a little tricky to get outfit photos but you can see a quick snap below. I am just obsessed with this striped pencil skirt from Zara. I picked it up just before I went to Portugal and have worn it so many times already. I kept Friday’s outfit very simple and added another one of my vintage hats. I’m actually sad that this past week is over! It was undoubtedly one of the best I’ve had in a while. I will admit that I am VERY tired today, but it was definitely worth it.
Today I’ve been getting everything ready for an interview I have tomorrow in Dublin for my US Visa. I actually cannot believe that I’m off to NYC in just 3 weeks time!! Where did the time go? I’m definitely starting to get a little nervous, but I also just can’t wait to be on that plane. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more details about what I’ll be getting up to when I get there & I’ll also be giving you a peek of what I’m packing. Exciting times ahead for sure!
Hope you’ve all had a lovely start to the week,
