Hi everyone! Hope you’re all having a nice June Bank Holiday weekend. Apologies about my absence over the last few days. I’ve been working on a project which has been taking up all of my ‘computer time’ so I haven’t had much spare time to blog. But thankfully, that’s all finished now so I’m back with regular posts once again. I woke up this morning to lots of ‘Hello June’ posts on Instagram, so I figured it would be nice to do a little May Favourites recap here on my blog. May was another month that just FLEW by me but overall, it was a really fun one! My favourite thing about this past month has been the fact that we’ve finally been able to wear some summery clothes again. Such a nice feeling! You can see some of my May outfits above and I’ve left links to each of them below the collage, just incased you missed any of them throughout the month. I’ve also included a recap on my May Highlights below -Places I visited, My Purchases, Food (Of course!) and my favourite moment of the month.
As cringey as it sounds, May has made me appreciate how beautiful Ireland really is! I know that good weather makes everything that bit better, but I got to see so many pretty places this month. I visited Kinsale for Nessa’s Hen Party, walked around the breath-taking surroundings of Adare Manor in Limerick, had dinner at Blackrock Castle in Cork and stumbled upon the cutest house I have ever seen in Galway.
At the start of May, I promised I wouldn’t buy too much as I’m in saving-mode for New York -but it just never works, does it? My favourites this month were the Glam Glow Mud facial (absolutely AMAZING!), light denim jeans & a white bag from Penneys and the fanciest little jewelled heels from Daniel Footwear.
A favourites post of mine would just not be complete without some food. As much as I’ve tried to stay healthy ahead of my trip to Portugal in a few weeks….it’s just SO HARD!! I have too much of a sweet tooth to resist nice things. My favourites were a double chocolate brownie in The Lane Bar in Killarney, my first 99 of the Summer in Salthill, Fro-yo from Yogism in Dublin and the nicest cakes in my new favourite spot in Galway – Kai. Oh and of course, there were (lots of) macaroons in between!
If you follow me on Instagram (@retroflame) you’re probably sick of me putting up pictures of my local beach, Rossbeigh. But it honestly just gets prettier every time I go there. It’s just five minutes away from my house and I don’t know what I would do if it wasn’t there! This photo was taken at about 9/10 o clock a few weeks ago just as the sun was setting and it’s definitely my favourite picture from the whole month. Rossbeigh will definitely be one of the places I miss the most when I move away at the end of the Summer.
“We didn’t realise we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.”
I must say that I’m very excited for June! This is my first Summer in ages I’m at home in Ireland, so it will be nice for a change. I have a few trips planned, the first being Portugal this month for Nessa’s wedding which I’m so excited about! I also have some more exciting collaborations coming up here on Retro Flame and some really cool giveaways too. So lots to look forward to :)
Hope you’re all having an enjoyable weekend!
