Hey everyone and happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend and with that it is also coming to the end of January. It may have felt like a long month to some of you but I actually think it flew by. You may have seen over on my Instagram stories this month that I have been sharing random recommendations most days. It is a new series that I’ve started this year called #RFRecs. I always share things I love with you so I thought why not create a hashtag so they can all live together in a highlight. I’ve shared quite a few this month already so for today’s post I thought I would do a round up.
One of my first #RFrecs and one I’ve talked about many times before. It really is a great bronzer and well worth the investment. Especially coming into Spring/Summer. I use an dense tapered brush with it and it’s easier to use than you would imagine. The real techniques contour brush and the MAC 168 brush.
Kaelin got me this robe for Christmas and I have practically lived in it since. Because I work from home I am in loungewear a lot and this truly is the coziest piece in my collection right now. Definitely on the pricier side but the quality is great!
GISOU POLISHING PRIMER & HAIR OIL
Some hair products I included in my #RFrecs this month were the Gisou primer & oil. I’ve loved this brand for a while now and these products really do work. I love that it is a brand founded by a blogger too.
The foundation I talked about this month was my trusty NARS natural radiant long wear. I’ve been using this on and off for a while now but lately I’ve been hooked. It’s a full coverage foundation that leaves the skin looking flawless. As part of the recommendation I mentioned that I mix in my Emma Hardie face oil with the foundation when I wear it and it makes the world of a difference. So much smoother to apply and makes the skin extra glowy.
My everyday work bag that I also use for traveling is my YSL Tote. I really love this bag and consider it one of my best investment pieces so I thought it would be worthwhile to share with you. It’s nice and lightweight, a classic style and fits loads.
I also shared my jewellery case from Ann Taylor which is unfortunately sold out now. However, I have linked a similar one above that looks really good too. It’s so handy both for storing my jewellery and traveling with it.
Another hair product I could not live without is my Kerastase Nutritive mask. I use this as a conditioner mostly when I am in the shower. I leave it on for 5-10 minutes and it leaves my hair feeling so soft and hyrdated.
Back to another makeup related #RFrec, I just had to tell you all about this Charlotte Tilbury Palette. It’s all I’ve been using lately. It has the perfect mixture of colours & tones in my opinion and they are very easy to apply for someone like me that wouldn’t be too adventurous with makeup.
Sticking on the makeup front I also recommended this Hourglass lipstick. I got this in a goodie bag a few months ago and instantly fell in love with the formula. It fells so nice on my lips and lasts which is so important to me. I use the colour ‘the first time’.
You may know that I got a soup maker at the beginning of the year and I can safely we have got our moneys worth out of it already haha! Tommy and I have been making soup non stop and it has really helped us eat cleaner so far this year. I wish I had gotten one earlier.
…And last but not least a product you may already know that I love – the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara. Mascara is definitely my desert island product so I am pretty particular about the ones I use and this one is truly great. It is great for volume and making the lashes looks thicker. Plus it is affordable too!
Well these are this months #RFrecs and I’ll be sure to continue sharing a little round up like this at the end of every month for the rest of the year. I would love to hear if you try any of these recommendations and what you think. You can always tag or DM me on Instagram (@retroflame)
