Happy Wednesday guys! For today’s fashion post I wanted to bring it back to the basics. I think when it comes to Summer a lot of us are a little guilty of shopping more often and buying things that we don’t necessarily get a lot of wear out of. I’ve definitely done it myself. It’s very easy to give in and buy printed, trendy pieces. However it’s obviously not the most sustainable option and that’s something I’m beginning to understand more & more. So today I wanted to chat though some pieces in my wardrobe that I have found myself wearing over and over again. These are pieces you will most likely already have in your wardrobe but I thought I would share some good options that are available too. When it comes to investing in pieces like these you know you will be able to wear & style them a million different ways. Thats what I love about them. So here goes…
Simple White/Black Top
I had to start off with your basic black & white tops because these have been the basis of a lot of my outfits this Summer. Simplicity always wins for me and I love how you can dress these up and wear them casually too. I love the cut of this style in particular and also have my eye on this one shoulder option.
I’ve had so much inspiration to style my shorts various ways this Summer. They are definitely a piece you can have in your wardrobe for years – I don’t think I have to expand much on that. I am loving the different styles/cuts available in stores this year too. Especially the longer styles like these levis. I also think this & Other Stories pair look great if you are still on the hunt for the perfect pair – they are on sale right now too!
Plain Black Dress
What can I say. I’ve pretty much lived in my Somethingnavy black dress ever since I got it earlier this Summer and it’s made me realize how important it is to have a good go-to black dress in your wardrobe. Especially during the hot weather we are having right now. I also really love this style with sleeves. Definitely one you could wear into Autumn too.
I’ve talked about my obsession with white shirts many times before so sorry if I’m like a broken record – I just love them! This year I have made a conscious effort to cut down how many I have in my wardrobe because it was getting a little out of hand. Now I find myself wearing the few that I kept even more and again I love the versatility and being able to style them both at the beach and for a night out. This linen style is so perfect for Summer and I love the look of this more fitted one too from ASOS.
I really hope you enjoyed this post and liked some of the pieces that I linked. Obviously because of the nature of my job I find it very hard to cut out shopping completely. However, I am making an effort to consider my purchases more and actually think will I get wear out this item before buying it. If you have any pieces in your wardrobe that you find you get tons of wear out leave them in a comment below. I’m always interested to hear your opinions.
