5 Ways To Change Your Attitude This Week

It’s a brand new week and I wanted to kick it off with a little chat about something I have been thinking about lately. Monday can be a tough one, let’s be real. Even when you work for yourself and love what you do, it can still be a reality check. However, when it comes down to it, it really is all about your attitude. I’ve learned that you can turn your whole day/week around if you look at things a little differently. So today, to start your week on the right note, I wanted to share some things that will help you do this….

 1. KICK A HABIT

We all have one little habit that affects our productivity and therefore, attitude. Mine is definitely Netflix. In the evening, I love to sit down and watch an episode or two of my favorite show. However, I always end up feeling guilty about not doing something more productive with my time. Another habit is definitely mindless scrolling on social media – I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this too. Don’t get me wrong, of course it’s ok to watch TV or be on social media but personally, I don’t want it to take over my life. This week I’m going to try my best to kick this habit to every second night and I have high hopes about what it will do to my overall attitude.

2. GO TO BED EARLIER

This is a very obvious one I know, but it cannot be said enough. Last week I felt exhausted due to my apartment search and a few other things going on. Because of this, I really wasn’t myself for the entire week and of course that affected my attitude. Sleep is extremely underrated when it comes to everyday functioning. I’m reading a new book right now (which I’m loving) that talks all about the fact that ‘we need three thing to be productive – energy, time & focus’. This really stuck with me and made me realize the importance of getting enough rest each night.

3. PUT IN THE HOURS

For me, when my work is going well I feel like everything else in my life is going well too. Simple but true. Succeeding at what you are doing can have the biggest affect on your attitude. So this week, put in a few extra hours at work and push yourself a little harder. I promise you that when you start seeing results it will be so worth it.

 4. CLEAR OUT

I think everyone in the world is Marie Kondo-ing their life right now but honestly, there is a lot to be said for it. For me, clutter bothers me so much in every aspect of my life. When my home is not organized, I feel like I can’t function properly. I will be clearing out constantly for the rest of this month in preparation for my move and I’m weirdly excited about it.

 5. DO SOMETHING FOR YOU

..And last but not least, do something for you! They say laughter is the best way to lift someones attitude so go out and do something that makes you happy. Whether it’s meeting one of your favorite people for a coffee or getting a mani/pedi. This year I’m definitely going to be dedicating more time to self-love and you should too. It will also be something nice to look forward to after you’ve done all of the above.
