Retro’s Autumn Edit: The Knitwear You Need

Retro’s Autumn Edit: The Knitwear You Need

Happy Friday guys – wow, that week went fast! I hope all is well with you. For today’s Retro’s Autumn Edit I am covering something that has been highly requested over the past week. Yes, you got it, it’s Knitwear. It’s probably the thing most of us live in this season. Well I do anyway. So therefore, you just can’t have enough of it. As usual I’ve browsed my favorite online shops to find you the best of the best. Earlier in the week for my post about coats I spit each category into affordable & investment and  a lot of you seemed to like that. So, I’ve done the same for today’s post. In my experience, knitwear is something I would definitely recommend investing in. One of the things I really want to invest in this season is  more cashmere knitwear. However, there are some great quality more affordable options out there too so I wanted to share a mixture with you…

JUMPERS/SWEATERS

Let’s start with the obvious, shall we? Jumpers or sweaters as they like to call them here in the states are a must have of course. I’m probably going to be wearing jumpers every day for the next few months so I definitely think a good selection is a must. For the affordable option here, I love this browny/beige one. You can never have two many neutral jumpers. Then for an investment option – I love the sleeve details on this cream number from ShopBop!

CARDIGANS

Cardigans are looking to be really big this year. They are definitely a great piece for layering outfits. I don’t have many in my wardrobe that I love right now so they are something I have been looking for. The ones I’ve found so far include this Burgundy one. This ivory option is then definitely more an investment option but I really like it. I could definitely see me wearing that coming into Spring as well.

DRESSES

If you watched yesterday’s new video, you will know how much I love my knit dresses. Last year I bought so many and honestly got so much wear out of each one so I would highly recommend getting a few for your Autumn/Winter wardrobe. I love this grey one from River Island and it’s pretty affordable. As for an investment option, this off white one is definitely on my wishlist.

TURTLE NECKS

…And lastly, I wanted to include some turtle necks which I also usually live induring Autumn/Winter. The cosiness of these are definitely one of the things that gets me through NYC winters. I just got this mint green beauty in the post during the week and it is so nice on plus pretty affordable. I also have this cashmere turtle neck from M&S. It’s definitely more of an investment but the quality is so so good! I love this blue option from Shopbop too!

I hope you guys have a great weekend and hopefully spotted something to treat yourself to. It is Friday after all ;)

x Erika
