Happy Wednesday everyone! Can you believe we’re almost half way through the month already – I feel like it was just the 1st yesterday! It still feels a little like Summer here in New York with the weather we are having. However, I definitely feel like I’ve already completely transitioned in Autumn. In fact, for the past week I’ve made it my mission to create a fresh start for the season ahead. You may have seen me chat about this in yesterday’s new video but I wanted to write a little bit about it over here on the blog too. I basically started fresh this month doing a few things in particular. I wanted to set myself up for a really productive Autumn and honestly I haven’t felt this good in ages. So, I wanted to share a few of the things I chatted about so that you too can test them out. After all, we are officially in the last quarter of the year so it’s best to make it count. Its now or never for any goals you set for yourself in January..
Just before we get into that, I want to quickly share my outfit details with you. This is one of my favorite looks I’ve worn in a while. As you will know if you read last Friday’s post I am really loving monochrome looks right now so I was excited to style one myself. I absolutely love how simple and chic the cream jumper, trousers & shoes looks together. I then chose to finish off the look with a camel coat (which is always a huge staple in my A/W wardrobe), my Chloe bag & one of my very favorite new accessories – my YSL brooch. I’ve fallen in love with brooches recently so I picked this one up on Farfetch a couple of weeks ago. While browsing the jewelry section looking for some new pieces and the minute I saw it I knew I had to have it. I love how they can make the most simple of items look so classic and more luxurious. I know already that it is definitely something I will have forever and get so much wear out of this season.
Now back to how you are going to start fresh and be more productive this Autumn . I chat through 4 different ways to get your started below..
1) Clear Out – I’m not sure if you will relate but I find it really difficult to be productive if my space feels cluttered. So, the first thing you need to do is clear out! Honestly the thought of doing this was so much worse than actually doing it. After I cleared out my apartment last weekend I instantly felt SO much better. Tackle each room in your current apartment/house and trust me it will set you on the path to productivity. I cleaned my apartment from top to bottom & filled four full bags for charity and it was the perfect way to begin my fresh start for the season.
2) Plan – This step is key and one of the most important in this list. By planning things out it allows you to get a clear view of everything and in turn be more organized. I truly believe that in order to reach your goals you have to write them down. As well as exactly how you are going to reach them. This month I planned out my content schedule and wrote down exactly what I needed to do to achieve each piece of content. What would usually overwhelm me felt so much more straight forward after doing this. I share exactly how I do this in my video. Obviously you may need to plan something completely differently. However, you may find the format I used for my content schedule helpful.
3) Exercise & Nutrition – Do you ever notice how much extra energy you have when you are regularly exercising & eating well. Well, this is exactly why it is so important in order to be productive. Over the Summer I really put exercise on the back burner & definitely didn’t eat my meals and I noticed a huge difference in my energy levels. Therefore, I did not get as much done every day. That’s why at the beginning of the month I signed up to a brand new fitness & food plan with Paul Sharry. I did a plan with Paul last year and loved it so much so I’m really ready to dedicate myself to it again. Again, I go through the plan in more detail over in my video if you are interested in finding out more.
4) Down Time – I know that you may think that down time is a big no no if you want to be your most productive self. However, I have come to learn that the truth is actually the opposite of that. You need to allow yourself some time every day to switch off and do something that you love. Whether it is going for a meal with a friend, watching your favorite show or reading a book. It will do you the world of good, trust me. I personally love either watching friends or reading a book. I’m currently reading a book called ‘Smarter Better Faster‘ & I’m loving it. If you like motivational books, I would definitely recommend it!
I hope this post gave you some insight and the push you may have needed to start fresh this Autumn. Don’t worry if you feel like you are not where you wanted to be at this stage of the year. There’s still so much time. If you follow these steps you can definitely still reach goals you made and put the groundwork in for more. As I mentioned, I go into a lot more detail in my most recent video and share even more ways to start fresh. I will leave that below too if you want to check it out.
