Hey guys and happy Friday – I hope you all had a great week and are as excited as I am for the weekend. It’s our last one here in the New York before we go home to Ireland on Monday for almost a month so I’m definitely ready to make the most of it. Thee countdown is truly on now and I really can’t believe how fast this trip has come around. I’ve mentioned a few times why we are going home over on Instagram but I wanted to write a short post to explain it a little further here on the blog and chat about a few other things I’m looking forward to while there..
As some of you may already know I am going to be involved in four events while I’m back in Ireland so let’s chat about them firstly. The first two events are both in Cork. I haven’t done an event in Cork in the longest time so I’m very excited to be back there. Firstly on August 1st, I am speaking alongside some other great bloggers at the Cork Network Ireland ‘Business Of Blogging’ event. I love being involved in these kind of events because I truly enjoy teaching people about the industry and allowing people to have a better understanding -especially aspiring bloggers. This talk is taking place at the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs at 7:30am on August 1st. There are still a few tickets left as far as I know so if you think you might want to come along, you can purchase them HERE.
Later that day in Cork, I am hosting a fun evening with Dressup Market. Dressup Market is an app where you can buy and sell new and preloved clothing. You can shop or list directly yourself or they can do it for you through consignment. I have worked with Dressup Market for several months now and absolutely love the team so when they proposed we do an event, I jumped at the opportunity. This event is now completely sold out so if you got your tickets, I can’t wait to see you there!
Moving on to the final two events…the next one will be in Dublin where I’m going to be judging ‘Best Dressed’ at the Dublin Horse Show on August 9th. I have actually never been before so I’m really looking forward to the experience and especially the dressing up. I love ladies day fashion and I expect there to be some amazing outfits on the day – it will definitely be a tough decision. If you are interested in going along there are still plenty of tickets left and you can get them HERE – the prizes are amazing!
And lastly, at home in Kerry, I am so delighted to be involved in this year’s Rose Of Tralee Festival. I am judging best dressed at their annual Fashion Show on August 19th and I’m so happy to be doing an event in my home county too while I’m home. Hopefully I will get to meet some more of my Kerry followers there! You can buy tickets for the fashion show HERE.
Then other than that, we’re just kind of taking it as a little Summer holiday. It gets so so hot here in New York during the Summer so I always try to factor in a trip home to get away from it for a little while. Obviously, I’m so lucky that I can work from wherever I am in the world, so I’m always kept busy with work back home too. Best of both worlds for sure! A few more things non-event related that I’m looking forward to about being home include…
-Family & Friends – I always look forward to being reunited with family the most, especially during Summer as it’s such a fun time and we get to do so many nice things together. My Mom is so excited!! I also can’t wait to see all my friends. It can be so hard to keep in contact while I’m in New York so I always enjoy catching up with everyone when we’re all home.
-Rossbeigh – You all know my love for Rossbeigh beach at this stage. If some of you don’t know, it’s my local beach that I try and visit every single day while home. It really is the calmest place in the world & I’m hoping the good weather lasts so we can enjoy it even more.
-The Fresh Air & Fresh Food – I think the fresh air speaks for itself as New York is currently SO humid and I’m just about at my Summer in New York tipping point, haha! As for the food, I just cannot wait to enjoy all of my Mom’s homemade dinners. I’ve literally been dreaming about them!!
.. And that’s pretty much everything I wanted to share with you guys for now! I am going to try to take some proper time off during the month to spend with friends and family but we’ve planned ahead for content so we’ll still be sharing lots of posts & videos. And knowing us, our laptops will never be too far away…but at least the view will be nice, haha! I can’t wait to see some of you at the events and have all the chats – & of course, I’ll be posting loads on my Instagram (@retroflame) so be sure to follow along. Also let me know what you’d like to see from Ireland (guides, etc.) and I can definitely get working on them too.
Have a great weekend everyone!
