Hi everyone and happy Monday – hard to believe another one has creeped in again! The weekend went so fast but it was such a fun one filled with lots of Christmas activities here in New York. I love this time of year SO much as I’ve said many times before, it truly is magical! So today I am sharing with you, my very favourite things to do during Christmas in New York. I know there are a million & one things you can do but these are things I have personally grown to love over the last three years here. I also wanted to share this brand new look with you. Hope you enjoy..
Before I get into my recommendations, let’s talk about this look. Is anyone else going through a phase of loving Jumper/Sweater Dresses because I cannot stop wearing them! So when I saw this burgundy one on the River Island website I couldn’t help but get it (still obsessed with Burgundy). They make for such an effortless & cosy outfit. I paired it with tights, these River Island boots, and an oversized coat which I love. All classic pieces I know I will have for ages!
Now onto the recommendations…
1. Strolls Down Fifth Avenue
My number one favourite thing to do every Christmas is to stroll down Fifth Avenue and check out all the Christmas windows. Although it is usually crazy busy and packed with lots of tourists, there is something so special about walking down Fifth Avenue in December. Every shop is beautifully decorated and nearly everyone is in the Christmas spirit. It always feels like a movie!
2. Hot Chocolate At The Bryant Park Christmas Market
In my opinion, The Bryant Park Christmas market it the best in the city. This is always one of my first stops each year. The food options are endless, there are two cute bars, an ice-skating rink and also lots of fun shops. Definitely something for everyone and a lovely atmosphere. p.s. you HAVE to get hot chocolate and a Nutella Waffle.
3.Eyeing Up the Christmas Tree at The Palace Hotel
Definitely my favourite Christmas tree in the whole city! If you watched Gossip girl, you will know what I’m talking about and if you haven’t I urge you to try and see it if you are ever visiting or live here. It is stunning!
4.Ice Skating at The Rockefeller Center
The Rockefeller Center has Christmas written all over it during the festive season. So in my opinion it’s one of the best places to go ice skating. Between the amazing buzz in the area and the famous Rockefeller tree as your view, I know you will love it too!
5. A Drink In The Plaza Hotel
Nothing says Christmas in New York like a visit to the Plaza – who else is a home alone fan? I think the Plaza is my very favourite hotel in New York and during Christmas it’s extra special so I try my best to pop in for a coffee (or the occasional glass of champagne) as many times as I can during December.
6. The Saks Christmas Light Show
And finally, no matter what age you are I can assure you the SAKS light show will blow you away. If you aren’t aware of it, it’s a light show SAKS (big department store on Fifth Avenue) host on the front of their building each year. It gets better & better every year and I think this years Disney team is my favourite to date!
I hope you enjoyed these recommendations. All of the above are tried & tested so I can bet that you will love them too!
Enjoy the rest of your week & don’t forget to catch up on Vlogmas!
*Huge thank you to River Island for sponsoring this post. I love working together :)
