Hi everyone, it’s almost time for that very anticipated party season & I couldn’t be more excited! It is always my favourite time of year at home in Kerry – especially since I have moved away. Although I do go home quite often, luckily enough, going home for Christmas is always just different. I get SO much more excited and it is such an amazing feeling boarding that plane. I love getting to see people that I may have not seen since the previous Christmas…and I just love all the nights out involved! Seeing as there are a LOT of nights out, parties, etc., I’ve learned over the years, the more prepared you are the better. So this year I am starting my preparations a little early and getting organised in advance with a party season checklist…which I figured you would find useful too. So here are 5 things you can start to stock up on to prep for party season…
Unless you are blessed with year-round sallow skin, I presume you will be reaching for some alternative methods to give you that holiday glow. If you have been following me on all of my platforms over the last few months, you will know I have fallen in love with a tan by Bperfect Cosmetics, an Irish owned brand (which makes it even better). I have been using their 10 Second Tan in Medium Coconut and it is honestly one of the best tans I’ve ever used. It applies evenly, smells beautiful and is a dream to take off. So if you’re on the search for a tan to stock up on – be sure to check out this one. I have no doubt you will fall in love with it too!! I think this one could be a no-brainer but I couldn’t help but include it in the list. Christmas is the one time of year you can go as glamorous as you like with your outfits…& sequins are always a winner! I have always had a huge soft spot for sequins this time of year and with so many beautiful sequined pieces online this year, we are spoilt for choice. I have linked some of my favourites for you to shop below – I am VERY tempted by this top!
3. Hair Tools
Good hair makes everything better & personally, hair is something I put more time into than makeup so I always make sure I have good quality tools. To achieve all of my night-out hair looks over the past few weeks, I’ve been reaching for my GHD Platinum Nocturne Styler constantly. It allows me to create both straight and curly styles which I love. Be sure to check it out if you’re looking for a new tool or it would definitely work great as a Christmas present for someone too!
Although I am usually very minimalistic with my accessories, I love to add a little ‘more’ during party season. This year I have really been loving statement earrings (which I never used to wear!). These ones from Asos would really add some WOW to an outfit. I also know a good pair of heels are an essential for the Christmas period too. I’ve mentioned before that I have this pair from Asos and I get SO much wear out of them! Below are some more ideas…
….And last but not least, we can’t forget about our skin. All of the socializing, eating, drinking and the flights always catch up on my skin over Christmas. So I ensure to look after it really well in the run-up. For the past few years I’ve been using Image skincare which I absolutely swear by. Especially the Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Masque. As hard as it can be, try to take off your makeup before you go to sleep each of the nights out and stick to your usual skincare routine. You will honestly be so thankful in January when it’s all over.
I really hope this post has you as excited for the party season as it has me. I know it’s a bit early to be talking about it but I honestly can’t wait! Enjoy the rest of your week and be sure to keep an eye out for Friday’s post which will be the first of my Christmas Gift Guide. Oh and here is yesterday’s new video just incase you might have missed it.
