Hi guys & Happy Monday! Last week I was invited along to the International Vision Expo here in New York and seeing as I’m obsessed with sunglasses, I was only delighted to attend. We had the opportunity to preview the trend forecasts for 2018 which was actually so interesting along with also meeting the different brands & designers behind them. These kind of events always give me so much inspiration! Both Kaelin & I really enjoyed it so I thought it would be good to share with you some of the amazing brands we met there along with some of the big trends for the year ahead…

Above were two of my favourite brands at the event – L.A.M.B. and Kate Young. I absolutely love tortoise-print sunglasses and I’m really liking the straight sunglass style at the moment so they instantly caught my eye. I also still love the round shape too, especially coming into festival season and according the the trend forecast it looks like it’s going to be big again this year!

Another pair that I absolutely loved were these ones from Silhouette. Definitely not my usual style but they were so light & comfortable to wear. The brand is specifically known for their lightweight glasses and unusual styles. It look like clear glasses will be just as big this year, along with the gold detailing/hardware you can see on this pair.

Another cool brand I discovered was, Coco & Breezy! It’s owned by two women called Coco & Breezy who totally embody the brand and you can really tell how passionate they are about it. The attention to detail is hard to miss and the quality of the sunglasses as well as the designs were so impressive. I would definitely recommend checking this brand out.

The next brand, Modo Eyewear, is one I have a HUGE soft spot for after meeting with the owner/designer. She was such a lovely person who was clearly so passionate about the brand and I absolutely love seeing that! I fell in love with one of the pairs on the stand and just before we left, they found Kaelin & I and kindly gifted us a pair each. Here are the ones I chose! A lot of their styles featured the brow bar which is set to be all over the stores again this year. I love the vintage feel it gives.

We then went on to view the brand ‘TC Charton‘ which again had such an amazing collection (I was literally in sunglasses heaven haha!). Their styles featured both the oversized cat-eye and oval shapes. I particularly love the detail on the gold pair above!

And last but not least we saw some new styles from Marcolin eyewear and Kendall & Kylie. As you can see, coloured lenses are massive this year. Indigo blue, orchid purple & red are set to be very popular. I’m definitely on the hunt for a pair for Coachella. I also loved the pair photographed above which were from Kendall & Kylie, the gold mixed with the tortoise print is probably one of my favourite combination in sunglasses, if you can’t already tell!

Overall we had such a great time at the event – I will be 100% be saving the date for next years one! It was so interesting to hear about the reasoning behind the trends and then see them come to life when viewing the brands. I’m definitely ready for Summer now and an excuse to invest in a few new pairs.
