Happy Friday everyone! You’ll know from my social media (especially Snapchat – retroflame1) that I spent most of the week in one of my favourite places ever, San Francisco. I went to San Francisco for the very first time in March (see full guide + Vlog HERE) and have already been back twice since then. I absolutely LOVE it there! As you might know, my boyfriend, Tommy, moved there from Ireland in January, so I’ve been taking every chance that comes my way to visit. It’s about a 6 hour flight from New York which definitely is a bit of a trek, but it’s always always worth the journey. This trip was actually mainly for work as I had different meetings there throughout the week, but I still had loads of time to spend with Tommy and also my parents – who were visiting too! Such a treat to see them again! It was their first time in SF, so I brought them to some of my favourite places in the city and the 4 of us did A LOT of eating every evening.
One of my favourite things about San Francisco is probably the thing that most people there complain about – the weather. I absolutely love ANY excuse to be back in Autumn/Winter style outfits. You’ll know by now that Summer dressing just isn’t for me, so I couldn’t have been happier to get away from NYC humidity for a few days and get back into one of my favourite type of looks – lightly ripped denim jeans, a simple white tee and a classic black blazer (this oneI’ve linked is a more affordable version). Whenever I travel, I always try to limit the amount of accessories I bring along and just pack my best pieces. I am OBSESSED with these Ted Baker bow heels. Aren’t they stunning? I also never travel without my Givenchy Antigona and Celine sunglasses. Two of my best purchases to date!
As I mentioned, I’ve already shared my favourite San Francisco recommendations HERE (where to stay, where to shop, what to do, where to eat, etc.) but of course, I found some new favourites on this trip. As my parents were here for this visit, we all stayed in a really cool hotel called Hotel Zeppelin. Such a handy location and the modern decor was right down my alley. For dinner, we went back to one of my favourites, Calzones, in North Beach and also found the most delicious Indian restaurant called, Amber India. Indian is our favourite food ever and we definitely approved of this one. We also had a really delicious breakfast in 398 Brasserie which I would definitely recommend too!
It was my third time in San Francisco, but the first time the sun was actually shining while I was there so I finally got to walk over the Golden Gate Bridge. You can also cycle it but we decided to just take our time and walk. We walked all the way over and then made our way to Sausalito, the small seaside town on the other side. Just WOW! Honestly, the nicest place I’ve been in a while. We felt like we were in a cute European village. It’s definitely a little on the touristy side, but beautiful nonetheless. We had a delicious lunch at Barrel House Tavern (ask for a seat outside) and then jumped on the ferry back to the city. Such a fab day and one we’ll remember for a while!
I always leave San Francisco with a smile on my face and hopefully I’ll be back again before I know it. Happy to be back in NYC just in time for the weekend and to catch up with the girls over a few cocktails tonight. As always, you can follow along on Snapchat (retroflame1) – which by the way I 100% still prefer over Insta stories.
Hope you all have an a great weekend!
