During my Summers spent in New York, back in my interning days, I remember I always used to go to the same few areas to go shopping. I’d give a wander around Soho and stroll down Fifth Avenue and as much as I still do LOVE both these areas, it could definitely get a little stressful if I was looking for something in particular. Everything is quite spread out and in the crazy Summer heat, it wasn’t long before I got a little cranky (haha – I am NOT a Summer person). So fast-forward to just before Christmas last year when I discovered The Shops at Columbus Circle. I’ll be honest, I’m really not too fond of certain shopping centres as they can sometimes be overwhelming, but I truly have nothing but good things to say about this one. From the minute you walk in, you just know it’s going to be good. It’s a host to SO many of my favourite shops/brands – Diptique, Jo Malone, Stuart Weitzman, Sephora, Michael Kors, COACH, H&M, J Crew ….and then to top it off, they have an EQUINOX, a Wholefoods and also the cutest little cafe on the third floor called Bouchon. You’ll have seen a snap of their mouth-watering croissants on my Instagram. I get a lot of questions from those of you who are visiting NYC for a short time and when anyone asks me about the best shopping location – I now always recommend The Shops at Columbus Circle. I like to think it’s a little hidden gem (that of course, I’m happy to share).
A few weeks back, I got a very nice email from their team asking if I would like to be involved in their Spring Edit campaign. I couldn’t believe it! Sometimes here in New York, I still get shocked that certain brands know about Retro Flame and for a big shopping centre like this to find Retro Flame is honestly so encouraging. So I popped in last week and chose my favourite Spring pieces which are going to be on display on the 2nd floor this week! So so exciting! I chose a mix of my key spring pieces (pop of color bags, metallic heels, star-print shirts, a beautiful rose gold watch) and also some Mother’s Day (later here in US) gift ideas which of course, included some Diptique candles. I would love for you to pop in and see for yourself and if you do, definitely send me a snapchat (retroflame1).
Speaking of snapchat, you’ll know that as well as choosing my Spring Edit, I was also invited to host a fun brunch at The Shops yesterday along with two other bloggers, Jess & Charlotte. I had the opportunity to invite 5 of you along and that’s the part I loved the most. Any chance I get to meet followers is always a plus for me :) We had such a great morning and it was the perfect end to this very fun project with The Shops at Columbus Circle.
Be sure to let me know if you pop in when you’re in New York next!
