I wore this outfit while I was in San Francisco and seeing as some of you were asking about the details, I took some proper outfit shots here in New York last week. It really is a mix of items I’ve had for a while now, but items I keep going back to. If there’s one thing I’ve learned since moving to New York, it’s to only invest in pieces which you know you won’t be tired of after a few months. It’s honestly the best rule I have now when shopping. I always ask myself a) Can I really see myself wearing this more than 5 times and b) Can I ACTUALLY see myself wearing this this time next year? Trust me, it works. You’ve seen me wear this white crochet top so many times now and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. Also, the white coat was actually a Dunnes purchase but I found a really reasonably priced (& fab) version HERE – which also comes in black.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful”
_______________________________________
So I’m writing today’s post from bed, as I’ve been a little under the weather these past few days. It seems like I’ve caught a bug that’s been going around and as much as I’ve tried to ignore it, I’ve finally been convinced that I just needed a full day in bed. You’ll know from my snapchat (retroflame1) that I’m usually always on the go here in NYC, so whenever I get sick, I find it so so hard to switch off. It’s like I know I don’t have the energy to do things, but I try everything in my power to do them anyway. It’s funny though how your body just finally gets fed up and then there’s not one single thing you can do only listen to it. So I’m stocked up on Vitamin C and trying my best to rest as much as I can so I’ll hopefully be back to full health before the end of the week. Things have been all a go for me over the past month or two and I found myself getting more stressed than usual over tiny little things, but as soon as anything comes in the way of your health, you immediately remember what will always be most important. It’s good every now and again to really take a step back and remember the important things. So no matter what we are all going through, be it big or small, we have to always be grateful for all the good we do have in our lives. Yes, things could always be better but they could also always be worse, so appreciate and be grateful for the good and you’ll be amazed at how better you feel overall.
Hope you’ve all had a great week so far and if you haven’t already, I would LOVE for you to subscribe to my new Youtube Channel. New video on the way!

I absolutely love that top – I don’t usually impulsively buy things after seeing them on blogs, but I have been looking for a shirt like that for SO long. Thanks for sharing the link :)
