Happy new year everyone! I’m back in action today with my very first post of 2016. I had such a lovely few weeks at home in Ireland (blog post coming up later this week) but I’m definitely ready to get stuck into a brand new year here in NYC. The homesickness is getting a little easier each time I come back now – thankfully, and so as soon as I got off the plane Sunday afternoon, I just couldn’t wait to get settled back into my apartment and catch up with the girls. New York is now my second home and my friends here are more or less my second family, so it’s always a very exciting place to come back to. I went straight back to work yesterday and although it can be tough to get back into the swing of things, once you get over the first day, it then feels like you never left. It also helps to start planning some trips, haha! Did you see this hilarious drawing I shared on my Facebook page yesterday? It literally couldn’t be more accurate. The girls & I spent the most part of yesterday talking about our travel plans for the year. First up, we’re looking into a weekend skiing trip at the end of January which I’m so excited about! It will be my first time skiing and also the first thing ticked off my Dream 2016 list.
I’ll be spending the rest of this week catching up on work and slowly getting back into my fitness routine. I’m struggling to come to terms with the fact that it was -12 degrees here in New York today. You’ll know from my snapchat (retroflame1) that I am not a fan of the cold. But regardless of the cold, it’s good to be back. Very good, in fact. And I’m excited to kickstart a brand new year of posts to share with you all.
Hope you’ve all had a lovely Tuesday!
