Ok so it’s now officially a week until I travel back home to Ireland for Christmas and I’ll be honest – I’m in full outfit-planning mode. I’ll just be bringing one suitcase home with me, so I’m trying to plan out a lot of my outfits before packing. It just makes everything easier and it avoids me bringing a million and one things I won’t even wear (which is usually what happens). As always, I’ll be packing my versatile items (lots of black and white, of course) along with my favourite shoes. New to my wardrobe is this ivory lace top from the Wallis Petite section (also comes in black) and these cute black fringe heels. Both of these will be coming with me! I showed you this top on my snapchat (retroflame1) last weekend and I actually think it looks even nicer on. I love pieces like this!
Look closely at the present you’re constructing.
It should look like the future you are dreaming.

When things are busy and it seems that there just isn’t enough hours in the day to focus on the million & one things you have to do, the last thing on your mind is planning ahead. You’re so focused on doing what you have to do that often, you forget to take a step back and ask yourself if all this work is getting you to where you want to be. That’s why I love December/January. It marks the end of one year and the start of the next and reminds us to really focus on what’s next. It feels like 2015 just started but at the same time, so much has changed in the last 12 months. The thing about living in New York is that you really never know what’s around the corner. Things seem to happen at a crazy pace here which sometimes makes it hard to plan, but it also makes you realize that anything can happen. Whatever you want to do, you can do it. 2015 was a year where I began to find my feet in relation to finding an apartment, a job, starting to save…all that (boring) adult stuff! But 2016 is a year where I want to – Travel. Don’t worry, I won’t be leaving New York any time soon, but my number 1 goal for next year is to see more of the US (and who knows where else). As I said, you never know what’s around the corner so you really do have to make the most of every day you have- and I’m determined to do just that. Next year, I’m going to take every single travel opportunity that comes my way because if not now, when?
So if you’re feeling the same, sit down with a pen & paper before the end of the year and write down what your dream 2016 would look like. The places you want to visit, the job you want to be in, the bucket list experiences you want to tick off the list…whatever it is you want to do, write it down. Make 2016 your year.
Keep an eye out for another more detailed post all about my ‘Dream 2016’.
