4 Apps that make my life easier in New York

If living in New York has taught me one thing, it’s that anything which helps make your day-to-day life that little bit easier, is something you should 100% make use of. There will never be enough hours in the day here and this is something which I’ve definitely just come to accept, but there are tips & tricks to make the most of your time. As my phone is rarely 20cm away from me, the main tools which help make my days less stressful are apps. Over the past year, I’ve found a few favorites – so I wanted to share with you the 4 apps that make my life easier in New York:

1. SQUARE CASH
This first one is probably my new favourite. Square Cash is an app which allows you to transfer money (so easily) between friends or also get paid for business transactions. It may seem like such a simple concept but wow, it saves an insane amount of time & effort. The girls & I tend to do a lot of eating/going out together here in New York and instead of driving ourselves crazy trying to split bills and trying to remember who owes who what, we now transfer everything through the app. As I said, it saves so munch effort & also takes literally about 2 minutes to do. A similar app you may have heard of is, VENMO, but I can honestly say I definitely prefer Square Cash. The main reason being that there’s no (annoying) ‘Cashing Out’ – the money just goes straight into your bank account. It’s 100% FREE to use it with your friends and family and if you’re a business who wants to use it to accept credit & debit cards, there’s just a very small fee. A genus idea (I wish I had thought of) haha!

2. UBER
I won’t even try to deny it, I am obsessed with UBER. My bank account wishes I wasn’t but there really is no denying how useful and efficient this app & service is. I’ve used a lot of it’s competitors- GETT, LYFT, VIA- but I keep coming back to UBER time & time again. Of course, I do use the Subway (make sure to download the subway map app also) the majority of the time but UBER is such a nice (stress-free) treat every now and again.

3. CAVIAR
I definitely try (and I stress TRY) my best to cook most days, but sometimes, after a busy day at work, the last thing I want to face into is cooking a meal. Why does it have to take up so much time!? A very big pro of living in New York is the convenience of everything and of course, ordering food couldn’t be easier. I’ve tried a few different apps to do this and my current favourite it one called CAVIAR. Really simple & easy to use and one I can definitely recommend.

4. WHATSAPP
…And lastly, a very obvious addition to this list – WHATSAPP. What in the world would we do without this app!? I genuinely can’t remember a time without group chats and being able to text/call someone half way across the world for free. Thank you, Whatsapp, for making life a million times easier.

So there you have it – sometimes it’s the small things which can make a big difference and I’m grateful to have these 4 in my every day life here in New York.

Hope you’re all having a great week!

Stylishly Yours,
Erika x
