As you’ll know, I’m a little on the shorter side (5’5) so when it comes to buying dresses, especially, I’m very fussy about length, fit, etc. I absolutely love when brands have a dedicated ‘petite’ section because it always makes my search a little easier. I mentioned before in this post that I picked up a few pieces from the Wallis Petite Section and now this petite black dress is my latest purchase. My collection of black dresses will never stop growing as I don’t think you can ever have enough. I have a lot of longer sleeved ones so I wanted something exactly like this one to mix things up. Plus I absolutely love the beaded collar detail. Dress season is just around the corner :)
“You are exactly where you need to be.”
If you follow me on snapchat (retroflame1) you’ll probably know that things have been all a go lately. Snapchat shows what really happens behind the scenes. I don’t really know when life is not like this for me, but it has been especially crazy these last few months. I always see September as a fresh start, so since then I’ve been working on so many exciting things & projects. You guys know at this stage that I couldn’t be more grateful for everything that is happening and I promise to you I never take it for granted. Despite all the craziness/tiredness/stress that comes with it, I genuinely make a conscious effort to limit any sort of complaining or negativity here on Retro Flame and on my social media channels. There is so much horrible stuff happening in the world right now, so we all have to constantly focus on positivity. And that’s exactly what I reminded myself of yesterday when I literally fell into bed at 7pm due to pure exhaustion. I tend to put myself under quite a lot of pressure to reach certain goals and to always be doing more and I think yesterday was the day that my body rebelled against me. As you might know, during the week, I work full-time as a social media manager at Vince Camuto & Louise et Cie and so balancing this along with my blog and other projects can sometimes get a little overwhelming. But a feeling like this is always temporary and that’s something we have to be grateful for. Each and every one of us has worries but at the end of the day, we have to remind ourselves that once we’re healthy & safe, nothing else is even worth a thought.
Hope you’re all having a great week!
