Ok so where to start? Last night, I attended the highly anticipated #HMBALMAINATION event here in New York and I can honestly say I’m still a little taken aback by the whole thing. Absolutely AMAZING!! From start to finish, it was one WOW moment after the next and as I said on my @retroflame Instagram, I think it may actually have been one of my favorite nights/events here in NYC to date. It was THAT good!! I’m so so grateful to H&M for inviting me along and I absolutely loved wearing some pieces from their current collection. This glitter top & structured blazer are both in stores now. Both pieces actually reminded me of this Balmain collection so I knew they’d be perfect for the event.
As I said, it really was one wow moment after the next and it all honestly felt a little surreal…but as you can imagine, I was in my element! Probably the best people watching I have ever experienced. The event took place in an absolutely amazing venue on Wall street and the night began with a very glam drinks reception. As soon as I walked in the door, I knew we were in for a treat! After about half an hour, we moved into another room to get seated for the show. I thought I might very nearly have a heart attack when I saw my seat. Front row!! The show was opened by none other than, Kendall Jenner, followed by Jourdan Dunn, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss amongst a sea of absolutely stunning models – both male & female. I don’t know how I managed to do it (there was some serious fangirling going on) but I showed the whole opening on my snapchat. My whole story from the night is still live so feel free to check it out if you haven’t already seen it. My username is: retroflame1.
The collection itself was just out of this world. Being honest, I’m usually a little skeptical about these designer collaborations as often, they can be extremely overrated but this one was far from that. I literally want everything! The detailing, the quality, the colours, the lavish accessories – the whole collection is a dream! At the end of the night, all of us attendees got a chance to be first to shop the collection (it doesn’t hit stores until November 5th) so of course, I jumped at the opportunity. I managed to find two of the blazers in my size and I am absolutely obsessed! The price points are actually a lot more reasonable that I had anticipated (one blazer was $129 & the other was $149) so I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Such a couture-like high street collection. Keep an eye out for some outfit snaps very soon!
…and of course, how could I not mention that the BACKSTREET BOYS performed!! I literally had to pinch myself, haha! Just as the fashion show finished, we were all asked to move near the stage and then out pops the Backstreet Boys. You should have seen everyone’s faces! It was so cool to watch all the celebs dancing along too (Kylie, Alexa, Ellie Goulding) and honestly, it was the perfect end to an already amazing night. I think I’m still a little starstruck after the whole thing! Above are some snippets from my snapchat story (one which I am going to find very hard to beat) and to see the whole thing, just search my username – retroflame1.
Hope you enjoyed all the updates.Anything can happen in NYC!!
