Now that I’m up-to-date on all my French Riviera posts (Outfit Diary & Travel Guide -just incase you missed them), it’s time to get back into the swing of things here in New York and I guess, more importantly, back to New York style. It’s funny that without even realizing it, your style can vary depending on where in the world you are. I loved wearing a mix of light, summery outfits while I was in France but I have to admit, I’m happy to be back in my (monochrome) comfort zone. In New York, all you ever need is black & white.
Up until recently, the idea of culottes just never appealed to me, but when I saw these simple black ones on the River Island website, I figured why not? This simple culottes & sleeveless blazer outfit got me through a full day of work & then onto the Boohoo x Nylon Magazine event at TAO. It’s all about the day-to-night outfits here in NY!
“The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave,
and even better to come back.”
I think I’m beginning to realize how you know when you love living somewhere. It’s always that bit easier to come ‘home’ at the end of a holiday. As you all know, New York is just my adopted home but the longer I’m living here (9 months now -crazy!!), the more it’s becoming my comfort zone – in many more ways than one. It’s fun to leave & explore, but I’m happiest when I’m right back in the middle of all the craziness. I’m lucky enough to work in an industry I’m crazy passionate about, live in a a cute little apartment where A LOT of laughter happens and have a group of friends who I genuinely couldn’t live without. I still struggle to believe that I didn’t even know some of these girls 9 months ago!? I guess what I’m trying to say is that home is more of a mindset than anything. If you’re happy in a place, no matter how far away it is from your ‘real’ home, coming back will never be a struggle. New York, it’s good to be back!
Hope you’re all having a great week,
