You’ll know from Friday’s post that I spent this past weekend in Miami. It was a trip that me and the girls had been planning for a while now and it genuinely couldn’t have been more fun! It only takes about 2 & a half hours to fly there from New York and then about another 30 mins to get from the airport. It’s the absolute perfect weekend getaway. Although we only had a short time there, we managed to pack in a lot. When we arrived on Friday night, we quickly got ready and went to a nightclub called, Story. A very different scene to New York, but so much fun! If you saw my snapchat stories (retroflame1) you’ll know what I mean. While in Miami, you definitely have to experience the clubs – it’s the ultimate party place!
We spent Saturday on South Beach and wandering around the Art Deco District. I really didn’t realize how cute & pretty Miami is. It’s full of retro-style buildings, palm trees & boardwalks. I think I spent half the trip taking photos! On Saturday night, we checked out some of the well-known Miami hotels; The Thompson & The Edition. I absolutely loved the simple white decor in The Edition and the fact that there was a bowling alley & ice-rink in it’s club was pretty impressive too. On Sunday, we had brunch (delicious french toast) at News Cafe on Ocean Drive and spent the rest of the day on the beach. Oh and I nearly forgot to mention another restaurant we went to called Big Pink. SO SO good!
You’ll have seen some of my outfits already on my @retroflame Instagram, so here is a quick recap of what I was wearing…
H&M Suede Skirt (Similar) // H&M Lace Cover-up (Similar) // Chloe Elle Bag // Zara Sandals (Similar)
French Connection Suede Skirt (Similar) // Primark Off the Shoulder Top (Similar)
Zara Sandals (Similar) // French Connection Hat
H&M Bikini (Similar Here & Here) // French Connection Hat
Hedonia Black Dress (Similar) // Dorothy Perkins Heels // Chloe Elle Bag
Although we all just shared one bag (with Louise & Lorna), I managed to squeeze in quite a lot. I have some more outfits to show you as the week goes on and will also be doing a post about the tan I was wearing while I was there. A lot of you were asking! Miami is the perfect spot for a sunshine-filled weekend and I just couldn’t recommend it enough. It was great to get a little break from the craziness of New York for a few days..but it’s also nice to be back. I guess that’s the good thing about living here, it’s always exciting to return.
Hope you’re all having a great week!
