“The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present,
and I don’t want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.” – Audrey Hepburn

As you might know from one of my posts last week, I recently started a brand new job here in New York. I’ve mentioned a few times before that my visa requires me to work full-time while I’m living here in the US, so I was delighted to finally secure a job that I love. I’m now three weeks in and as well as learning lots of new skills, I’ve also been getting back into the swing of ‘dressing up’ & styling workwear outfits every morning. The people I work with are super stylish, so I’ve definitely noticed myself experimenting with new styles & outfit ideas – which I’m very excited about! I feel like I had gone through a phase where I was feeling a little uninspired by my style, so it’s good to be back to normal again. At the end of the day, fashion shouldn’t be anything but fun!

These printed trousers are perfect for day in the office/meetings and add a little life to an otherwise all-black outfit. I also love that they’re slightly high-waisted. As free time is quite rare nowadays, I find myself sticking to simple but chic looks. I work until about 7pm every evening & then it’s usually straight home to catch up on my emails & work on upcoming blog posts. Things are busy, to say the least, but I’m so happy to be finally finding a routine that’s working for me. I love the new job so far and then I  genuinely look forward to coming home in the evenings to get stuck into all my Retro Flame work. I have to admit, I was a little (a.k.a 110%) worried to see if I would actually have time for everything, but what I’m learning is that if you want something bad enough, you’ll always find a way.

Hope you’re all having a fantastic week so far!

Stylishly Yours,
Erika x
