Life Lately

IMG_4382

Hi everyone! I’m finally back to you guys with a little ‘Life Lately’ post. I know it may seem like I fell off the face of the earth there for the past week, but unfortunately I’ve just been really ill since I came back to New York last weekend. This time two years ago, I suffered a burst appendix (not fun) and ever since then, I’m prone to getting very very sick. I think my body just doesn’t like doing things in half measures because when I get sick, I get proper sick!! I’ve been in and out of the doctors for the past week (they couldn’t quite figure out what was wrong) but I’m finally starting to feel a little better today. Being sick in a different country has definitely been a little daunting -it’s so hard being away from family and your regular doctors when things like this happen. I felt so lost! But thankfully I have some great friends and extended family here in New York and I’m so grateful for all their help over the past week. I’m still off work and more or less house-bound for another week, but I’ll hopefully be able to share more posts as the week goes on. I’m using the time to set lots of goals & plans for the year ahead.

Lulu’s Cream Coat // H&M Leather Trousers (Similar Here & Here)
Lulu’s Boots // Lauren Cecchi Bag // Daniel Wellington Watch

As you know, I went home to Ireland for two weeks at Christmas and I honestly had such a ball! I really think that you only appreciate where you’re from when you move away. The time went so so fast in the end but I tried to make the most of every minute and it was so good to see everyone again. I squeezed in a trip to Galway (another blog post on the way this week) and also visited all my favourite spots in Kerry. One of my favourite places, as you probably already know, is the Aghadoe Heights in Killarney. I went there twice while I was home – one day with family and another day with all the girls for a little end-of-trip lunch. It’s just the best! I wore my new coat from Lulu’s – I love the little frill at the bottom. I only brought a limited amount of my bags and accessories home with me but I was sure to pack my Lauren Cecchi Bag, my Daniel Wellington Watch and my favourite Gemporia Rings.

Lulu’s Black Dress // Boohoo Heels

While I was home…there were also lots of fun nights out with the girls! My favourite part of going out is the dressing up and this black off-the-shoulder dress was my favourite Christmas dress for sure. Such a classic piece to own! I did a little searching online and found some more similar versions too…

Which is your favourite?

Overall, between everything it has definitely been a pretty hectic few weeks. It’s so important to take little breaks from time to time and I just can’t wait to get fully better so I can get back into the swing of things here in NYC. If this past week has taught me anything it’s that you’re healthy is undoubtedly your wealth.

Hope you’ve all been having a great start to the new year,

Stylishly Yours,

Erika x
