Hello everyone! Hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas. I took a mini blogging break over the last week – just to enjoy my time at home in Ireland and also to recharge my batteries. I always get so tired at Christmas as it’s the only time where I really allow myself a little break. But I’m happy to be back again & SO excited to share this particular post :) Last week, I headed up to Dublin to shoot a fun collaboration with one of my favourite online (Irish) sites, iClothing. If you’re a regular follower, you’ll have seen me feature some iClothing items here on Retro Flame throughout the year. Lots of you loved this monochrome dress I wore in New York. I always love working with Irish companies, so I was thrilled to be able to work on this fun project while I was home. Over the past few weeks, I chose my favourite items from the site and styled up six outfits to create a ‘Retro Flame Winter Edit’. I chose a mix of dressy & casual outfits and I’m so thrilled with how the whole thing turned out!
My first look was one of my favourites! I loved wearing these leather trousers and black boots – the perfect staple pieces. This dogtooth cape is already sold out (sorry!) but there are some similar versions Here & Here. I also added in my own sunglasses & favourite Nixon Watch.
Next up were some classic black dresses. Originally, I was only supposed to wear one of these but I just couldn’t choose! New York has made me utterly obsessed with black clothes and so both of these dresses immediately caught my eye when I was browsing through the site. The Mesh Top Midi Dress (the first one) was an absolute dream to wear! The quality is amazing & this one looks so expensive on. I love that it’s a little see-through but still 100% classy. The other dress – The Pauline Lace Midi Dress – was equally as beautiful! Anything lace and with a high-neck always catches my eye. I think this dress could also be so stunning worn with a flowy midi skirt. Both of these dresses were very fitted, so if you find that you’re in-between sizes, it might be best to go up one size. If you’re still on the search for your New Year’s Eve dress, one of these could definitely be your solution :)
I’m very fussy when it comes to jeans and so I only really have a few pairs that I actually like. When I chose these soft blue ones from the site, I really wasn’t sure how they were going to fit – but they ended up being perfect. I love that they’re a little high-waisted and really like the colour. I paired them with this comfy faux fur jacket and simple black heels. Also, how cute is that little blue canopy? We couldn’t resist shooting some photos there.
As well as the all-black dresses, I totally fell in love with this black jumpsuit too. The back detail is amazing and it’s honestly the comfiest thing I’ve worn in forever! Another good staple piece to have in your wardrobe.
…and finally, I mixed in some colour & print for my last look. I love the contrast between the animal print jacket and purple jumper. I don’t usually wear this kind of bold colour but I actually love how it turned out. I paired them with these (very) high-waisted ripped jeans and the same boots from my first look.
I just want to say a huge thank you to the iClothing team for collaborating on this fun project together and also to the very talented Alex Hutchinson for all these amazing photos. It was the perfect way to end a busy but very fun year. You can check out the full feature Here :)
I’d love to know what your favourite look is?
Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend,
