Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! I wanted to share a quick post with you to toast to the brand new year which lies ahead of us all. New Year’s Eve is one of my favourite days of the year. Not because of the big night out, but because it marks the start of something brand new and in my mind, there’s nothing more exciting than the unknown. Random little fact..if ever I get married, it will be on New Year’s Eve. A big party with lots of champagne and loved ones – sounds pretty perfect to me! On New Year’s Eve, I always sit down to write this same blog post (see last year’s here) and by doing so, it makes me look back on all the adventures of the past year and look forward to all the exciting ones ahead. I know that this past year might not have been perfect for everyone and I’m pretty sure we all had some pretty awful days/experiences…but at the end of a year, you come to realise that it’s all part of it. All those tough times make you especially appreciate the good days. Those tiny moments when the smallest of things or the most unexpected of people have you smiling from ear to ear. And hey, isn’t that what it’s all about?

2014 was another busy one. I worked on lots of exciting projects for Retro Flame, moved my whole life to New York City and continued to keep working towards this little dream of mine. But more importantly…I enjoyed many a late night with both old & new friends, I travelled to different cities with the people I care about most, I watched one of my best friends get married, I got to experience living in New York for 3 whole months with my sister, I spent so much time at beautiful Rossbeigh and finally, I got to see my Mom’s reaction on Christmas morning when I told her that I was staying at home in Ireland for an extra week. I’ve said it before a million times…but life’s all about those little things. 2014, you have taught me to appreciate every single moment!
So 2015, what do you have in store? On Sunday, I fly back to New York for the foreseeable future…which is both scary & exciting at the same time. Over the past few months, I’ve really settled in there. I live in a cosy little apartment, I work with a fantastic company (more about that in the new year) and I’ve made some amazing friends. You’ll know from my lessons learned posts (here & here) that New York isn’t always as glamorous as it looks. Instead, it involves a lot of hard work, motivation and the ability & drive to never give up. But I really feel like I’m ready. I’m going to give this year everything I have! It’s funny, even though I’m heading back on my own this time, it’s so nice to think that, in a way, I’m bringing all of you with me. You’ll probably never realise how much each of your comments & well-wishes mean to me & so from the bottom of my heart, I want to wish you all an absolutely amazing new year! Let’s kick ass together :)
Happiest of new years everyone – see you on the flip side!
