Last Friday, my aunt and I went on a very fun day trip to Kildare Village – a stylish ‘Day Trip To Chic’. For those of you who might not know, Kildare Village is one of the Chic Outlet Shopping Villages in Europe and is located less than an hour from Dublin. It is undoubtedly Ireland’s leading luxury outlet shopping experience. Kildare Village offers the authentic previous seasons’ collections of a unique selection of Irish and international brands with savings of up to 60% on the recommended retail price, seven days a week and all year round. I visited the village for the first time earlier this year (read about that trip here) and I just immediately fell in love! So I was very eager to make one more trip before I head off to NYC. As I knew it was going to be a jam-packed shopping day, I kept my outfit very simple and comfortable and of course, brought along my favourite Furla bag which I picked up at the village earlier this year.
As I live in Kerry, the journey to Kildare Village for me takes approx. 3 hours, so we stopped off a few times on the way. Firstly, we grabbed a coffee to-go in my favourite Killarney cafe, Noelle’s. Noelle’s definitely has the best coffee in Killarney and so if you’re ever in the area, I’d definitely recommend a trip. This caffeine fix kept us going until we got to Adare -one of my very favourite towns in Ireland. As I was in college in Galway, I’ve passed through Adare so so many times and always enjoy the sights throughout this very pretty town. The Good Room Cafe has been on my bucket list for months now and I was so excited to finally visit. It was amazing! Any cafe which has delicious coffee and macaroons is a winner in my eyes. If you haven’t been to Adare yet, get adding it to your list ASAP!
When I arrived at Kildare Village, I didn’t waste too much time before hitting the shops. What I love most about the village is that it boasts such a relaxed environment, everything is so close and the shop assistants couldn’t me more helpful. I made it around to every shop eventually, but my favourites on the day were definitely Lulu Guinness, Ted Baker, Diesel, L.K. Bennett, All Saints, Karen Millen, David Clulow (Eyewear) and DKNY. You can see some of my favourite finds in the below collage. My first purchase was the most amazing pair of Diesel Jeans. I don’t know about you, but jeans shopping has always been my least favourite type of shopping. It’s almost impossible to find the ‘perfect pair’. But after having a consultation with the lovely staff in Diesel, I found a great pair of ‘Skinzee’ light denim jeans. I can’t wait to show you in an outfit post. I also fell totally in love with the shoe selection in L.K. Bennett and the Prada Sunnies in David Clulow. Oh and I have to mention the adorable baby blue dress I spotted in Ted Baker. Also, I had great fun in their dressing rooms -how cool are the mirrors (see below)?
So after a successful day shopping, my aunt and I then treated ourselves to some seriously delicious food at the L’Officina Italian restaurant in the village. It was hands down one of the nicest meals I’ve had in while! The perfect end to a very fun day :)
Overall, it was such a fantastic day trip and I’m already planning another visit when I’m at home again during Christmas. If you’re looking for a relaxed day out full of bargains and delicious food, I couldn’t recommend Kildare Village enough. Also, on the day I took over the Kildare Village Instagram, so just incase you missed that, feel free to check it out to see some more photos from my trip.
Happy Friday everyone!
