“If you don’t build your own dreams, someone will hire you to build theirs.” – Tony Gaskin
Hello everyone! Hope you’ve all had a wonderful Easter. It feels like ages since I’ve last blogged, but I just took a little break over the long weekend. I always think it’s good to take some time out every now and again. I’m guilty of working crazy hours, so it’s refreshing to be away from my computer for a little while. I spent some of the weekend in Kenmare which is such a stunning town here in Kerry and I’m actually already planning a trip back. If only every weekend could be a long one, right?
A few weeks back, I was asked to speak at The Young Entrepreneur Event here in Kerry and although I was a little nervous, it was such a wonderful experience. I got to meet with lots of transition year students who all had their own business ideas and it was so interesting to hear them all pitch their plans to everyone in attendance on the day. For my presentation, I went through my background and spoke about how & why I got into the fashion industry here in Ireland. I spoke all about my college path (which you can read about in detail here), my internships, my experience working in New York, my plans for the future and of course, I talked a little about Retro Flame itself. It’s crazy to think how different things would be without this blog of mine and I’m just so grateful for all the opportunities it has brought with it. I definitely have a long way to go, but it’s great to see what hard work (and LOTS of patience) can help you to achieve. If ever you guys have any questions, feel free to get in touch!
I kept my outfit quite business-like and simple. Apologies about the iphone pic, I completely forgot to get a proper picture on the day as things were so busy. I just adore these Topshop trousers (similar here) and the black Boohoo top is such a versatile piece. I also just found some other really nice black tops here, here & here on the Boohoo site.
Hope you’re all having a lovely week so far!
