“Real style is never right or wrong.
It’s a matter of being yourself on purpose.” – G. Bruce Boyer
I’ve mentioned before that I’ve started to invest a lot in staple pieces -pieces which I will have for years & can easily be mixed and matched with other items in my wardrobe. I still love to buy a crazy piece every now and again, but I’m really beginning to appreciate having some go-to ‘style essentials’ in my wardrobe. Prime examples are this simple black shirt & these tailored trousers from Dorothy Perkins. You really can never go wrong with a staple shirt and I’m looking forward to pairing this one with vintage denim shorts and fun skirts this Summer. Lately, I’m a big fan of tailored trousers and these ones are just ideal. I love the colour (they will also be lovely with pastels this Spring) and the fit is super flattering. Oh and how cute is the mini tote bag? Such a perfect size!
I shot this look with Julia in a very pretty part of Galway – Kirwan’s Lane – and even though it was quite a rainy day we still had lots of fun and enjoyed our surroundings. Today, I’m in Dublin for some meetings and will also hopefully be treating myself to some delicious pancakes. It’s genuinely one of my favourite days of the year as I am pancake-obsessed! Be sure to keep an eye on my Instagram (@retroflame) for updates throughout the day.
Have a lovely Tuesday!
