Ever since I tasted Chocolate Covered Strawberries in New York last Summer, I’ve been dying to make them myself! I’m obsessed with cute-looking (and of course delicious) desserts so these are my ideal treats. They really were quite simple to make and would be ideal if you were having a little party. So below is a brief step-by-step guide on how to make them yourself.
What you will need:
-Dark, Milk or White Chocolate
-Decorative Hearts (or chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc.)
-Writing Icing (optional)
*I purchased all of these in Tesco.
Ensure that all of the strawberries are 100% dry. If they are even a tiny bit wet, the melted chocolate won’t set properly. Pull back the leaves on each and insert a tooth pick.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time. After each 15 seconds, be sure to stir the chocolate until it is fully melted.
Dip each strawberry three-quarter’s way into the chocolate and then stand them up (I stuck them into a foam board) or lay them onto some parchment paper. When you have them all covered, place them in the fridge for about 15 mins to allow the chocolate to set before decorating.
Using a piping bag, rolled parchment paper or decorative writing icing, decorate each strawberry whichever way you like. I just added some lines (using a loop motion) and then some chocolate hearts.
**With the leftover melted chocolate, I decorated some plain shortbread biscuits -which turned out delicious too!
Hope you’re all having a lovely Valentine’s Day!
