Internship Diary #1

Hey everyone ! So from here on I am going to be doing a weekly, “Internship Diary”, post which will feature my ,”Look of the week”, a chat about some of the designers which I work with & also a brief overview about what projects I’ve been working on. So here is the first installment & I really hope you enjoy :)
The company I’m working with is called Foundfuture, so be sure to check out their Facebook Page & Twitter, so you’ll be able to keep up to date with what we are working on during the Summer. Our showroom is located on Spring Street in Manhattan, really close to Broadway, etc. There is a Starbucks right across the road & stylish people EVERYWHERE, so yes as you can imagine my journey to work in the mornings is quite enjoyable. As this is the first of these posts, I’ve included some pictures of the showroom, so you can get an idea of the environment I’m working in…

As you can see, I’m surrounded by the nicest of clothes & jewelry everyday ! So every week I’m going to be doing a “Look of the week” feature. This is basically where I will be featuring some of the designers in an outfit post here on my blog. This week I’m featuring 2 looks with pieces I chose from LambillotteLove Mert & Alberto Juan. It was so much fun doing this yesterday with my co-worker Sara & I’m really excited that this will be a regular feature from here on.

Skirt – Penneys/Primark
Printed Top – Lambillotte
Bag & Ring – Love Mert
The beautiful printed top I am wearing in this first look is from Lambillotte. I adore both the print & the material (silk) & it is such an easy & light piece to wear. The fact that it is sheer means it is right on trend & the colours are perfect for this time of year.
Lambillotte was born out of a love of creating, in all forms–music to artistry. Lambillotte is a sister duo, part of a growing trend in the fashion industry. It is easy to see why this trend is continuing–sisters speak a secret language. Lambillotte’s path began in their grandmother’s garden in the lush, dreamy landscape of the Great Lakes region of Ohio. The Fall 12 collection evokes images of a vintage carnival scene. The garments belong in a rich backdrop of a vibrant circus tent and dark mahogany theatre seats, living in a time past.   Dresses in saturated tones of wine and mustard. Sheer silk blouses and pants with a decadent floral print that inspire memories of days past. These garments carry history in their tailoring–adding a peplum here and ribbon detail there… The Lambillotte girl is whimsical and unique. The collection is produced locally in NYC’s very own garment district & you will definitely be hearing a lot more about this brand in the future.

The bag & ring I am wearing are from Love Mert. This brand is a  modern lifestyle collection constructed with elements of leather, wood and hand printed textiles. Passion for textures, scents, structures, patterns and vintage oddities translate into a collection that reinvents primitive patterns, faceted crystals and natural elements -made by hand in a studio in Lake Tahoe, California.

Printed Pants – Lambillotte
Top – Forever 21
Shoes – New Look
Bag – Love Mert
Necklace –Alberto Juan
The printed pants in this look are beyond cute. I just paired them with this really simple white top, but I think they would be so cool too with a clashing printed top. The necklace is from Alberto Juan, his jewelry is so amazing -Take a look at his easy site HERE. There are so many of the rings that I want, I definitely plan on saving up for one before I return home at the end of the Summer.
So hopefully you like these looks & I’d absolutely love to hear any feedback you have. Also, if you have any more questions about these brands I’ve mentioned, feel free to email me @ erikafox@foundfuture.com. It’s been a busy week as I’ve been working on some NY Fashion Week Projects (which is so so exciting) & I’ve also been in touch with some bloggers. It’s such a different industry over here & it’s taking some time to learn about all the “big names”, but I really am learning so much every single day :)
Today is my day off, so I’m off thrift store shopping wearing this lovely dress from Sugarlips
I’ll be doing an outfit post, so as usual, stay tuned :)
Have a great day guys !
Stylishly yours,
Erika x
